🤖 The School Robot With an X-Rated Family Tree
Plus: how one state became the AI capital of higher ed

My fellow AI explorers
This week's edition is a lesson in contrast. On one side, a university just proved that AI integration done right can win you a national title. On the other, a school district just learned that AI integration done fast can win you a PR crisis. Grab your coffee. We're diving into both.
In today’s edition:
🤖 A robot named "Sally," a sex-doll sister company, and a school district under fire
🎓 How one state became the No. 1 public university system for AI readiness
🎬 Turn a single prompt into a week's worth of viral content (30-Second AI Play)
🔓 OpenAI's rogue agent problem gets bigger, Anthropic's Mythos finds Microsoft's bugs faster than it can patch them, and more
Write docs 4x faster. Without hating every second.
Nobody became a developer to write documentation. But the docs still need to get written — PRDs, README updates, architecture decisions, onboarding guides.
Wispr Flow lets you talk through it instead. Speak naturally about what the code does, how it works, and why you built it that way. Flow formats everything into clean, professional text you can paste into Notion, Confluence, or GitHub.
Used by engineering teams at OpenAI, Vercel, and Clay. 89% of messages sent with zero edits. Works system-wide on Mac, Windows, and iPhone.
Education
A School Just Hired an AI Teacher. Its Maker Also Owns a Sex-Doll Company.
A rural school district in upstate New York just found out the hard way that in AI, your vendor's other business lines matter.
The Salamanca City Central School District approved a nearly $60,000 purchase of a humanoid AI robot named "Sally" from Realbotix, meant to help high schoolers learn robotics and AI. Then the community found out Realbotix's sister company owns a stake in RealDoll, maker of AI-powered sex robots.
District officials say Sally will never collect student data, record audio or video, or pull from the open internet
The state's Education Commissioner is still pushing back, pointing out the district's own board presentation called Sally a "tutoring platform," despite promises she won't deliver instruction
The teachers' union isn't buying the "separate companies" defense, and neither are several parents
The rollout is now paused while the district negotiates new student data privacy agreements
But here’s the other part that should trigger some alarm bells: the robot itself, per every technical description, seems almost boringly safe. Local storage, no internet access, no data collection, guardrails against inappropriate topics. The backlash isn't really about what Sally can do. It's about who built her, and how little control a school district actually has over public trust once a vendor's brand becomes the story.
Without the sister company, Sally might still be teaching in Salamanca. It’s early days, but it’s another challenge to the traditional education system that’s starting to feel like a late-game Jenga tower.
🔮 Prediction: expect procurement departments everywhere to start adding "corporate family tree" checks to their AI vendor vetting, right next to security and privacy reviews. In 2026, who owns your AI vendor is now a reputational risk category of its own.
Reply and tell us: would you let your kid's school pilot an AI robot tutor, or is this a hard no regardless of the safeguards?
Higher Ed
The University That's Betting Everything on AI, and Winning
While one school district is getting burned for moving too fast on AI, one university just got ranked No. 1 in the country for doing it right.
The University of Florida topped a new independent ranking from AIREDEX measuring how well large public universities are preparing students for an AI-driven job market, scoring 9.7 out of 10.
UF's "AI Across the Curriculum" initiative gives every student AI training, regardless of major
HiPerGator, one of the most powerful university-owned supercomputers in the country, anchors the school's research muscle
A direct partnership with Nvidia and an in-house generative AI platform, NaviGator AI, round out the pitch
The ranking pulled from public data: institutional announcements, program filings, research output, and industry partnerships, not a survey
Here’s the part you should take with a grain of salt: this is a brand-new ranking from a brand-new firm, based entirely on public disclosures rather than outcomes like graduate employment or salary lift. It measures how loudly and thoroughly a university talks about AI investment, not necessarily how much smarter its graduates end up. That said, it’s at least worth watching whether AIREDEX's methodology holds up to scrutiny as more schools get scored.
🔮 Prediction: "AI readiness" rankings become the new US News college rankings arms race within 18 months, and expect universities to start actively building curriculum and infrastructure specifically to game them.
Reply and tell us: does a ranking like this actually tell you anything useful, or is it just another marketing scoreboard?
30-Second AI Play
Turn One Prompt Into a Full Week of Viral Content
Want to build UGC-style social content, ad creatives, and even a landing page, all from one workflow? Here's the play, based on a walkthrough using Imagine Art's Imagine Computer.
Open your image tool of choice and select a strong image model (GPT Image 2 was the standout in testing) at a 9x16 aspect ratio for social formats
Write or borrow a mirror-selfie style prompt for your product; the format works because it hides the model's face, which makes the image feel like a genuine selfie instead of obvious AI content
Generate 4-5 variations for a full slideshow: one hook slide, several value slides, one product-promotion closer
Ask an AI chat model to write you a "master prompt" tailored to your specific product; this turns a single strategy into dozens of ready-to-use prompts across different niches
Animate your strongest image into a short video using a video model at 1080p to double your content output from the same asset
Repeat the process with a static-ad prompt template to generate paid ad creative in a single-image, square-aspect format
💡 Pro Tip: build a "master prompt" once for your product category (hook style, value slides, promo slide, aspect ratio) and reuse it every time you need new content. You'll get an entire week of on-brand posts and ads out of one afternoon of prompting instead of one post at a time.
