Moltbot: The Proactive AI Agent That Runs Your Whole Computer

Moltbot is a free, open-source AI assistant that skips the "chat" and goes straight to "action" on your local hardware. Originally called Claudebot (before Anthropic’s legal team sent a "friendly" reminder), it acts like ChatGPT on crystals with a keyboard and mouse at its disposal.

• Full System Access: Unlike browser AIs, it can run terminal commands, manage local files, and use your apps.

• Proactive Agency: It doesn't just wait for you; it can book reservations via voice call or negotiate car deals while you sleep.

• Open Source & Local: 

You can host it on a Mac Mini or VPS, keeping your data (mostly) under your control. Moltbot is the kind of "reckless" innovation we don't see from big tech yet. It connects to your Telegram or Messages app and just... executes. It can even schedule actions, meaning you could wake up to a project being 50% finished. However, it’s rough around the edges—it can get you banned on Gmail or X if it acts too "bot-like," and early security holes exposed API keys to the public. It’s the frontier of AGI, but proceed with caution.

Anthropic just upgraded Claude with interactive connectors, allowing you to use 75+ popular apps directly inside your chat. Powered by the Model Context Protocol (MCP), you can now trigger actions in tools like Slack, Figma, and Canva without switching tabs.

• Start Your Workflow: Ask Claude to brainstorm a presentation, and it uses the Gamma connector to build the slides live in the window.

This update transforms Claude from a thinking model into a digital operator. I’ve been using the Gamma connector to build presentations (like an army of penguins taking over the world—don't ask), and it’s a game-changer. While it still takes a bit of time to sync, the convenience of having your "brainstorm" and "execution" in the same window is unbeatable. It’s early days, but the path to a "universal layer of interoperability" is now open.

🔮 Prediction: The "Knowledge Agent" is becoming mainstream. Expect the race to shift from who has the best model to who has the best "plug-and-play" ecosystem for enterprise data.
