ChatGPT Agent + Grok 4

One Is Getting Better. The Other? Not So Much.

We finally have enough hands-on time with ChatGPT Agent and Grok 4 to make a proper call. Spoiler: Only one is shaping up to be a serious daily tool.

Grok 4

  • Yes, it sometimes outperforms GPT-4 and Claude in isolated prompts

  • But its real-world utility lags behind—UX friction and lack of integrations are major blockers

  • Most advanced users are switching back to GPT + Claude for actual work

ChatGPT Agent

  • Now rolled out to all Plus users (EU included)

  • Research → Analyze → Format workflows (Excel, PowerPoint) work incredibly well

  • Custom prompts can generate YouTube strategy docs, data-backed video ideas, and more

Is it perfect? Not yet. It's still too slow and limited for real autonomy. But for structured tasks like generating content strategies or research spreadsheets, it’s unmatched.

🧠 Prediction: Agent will eat basic assistant jobs. It’s already a silent killer for junior analyst-type tasks.

Qwen3-Coder

Alibaba Just Dropped an Open Coding Beast

There’s a new heavyweight in the AI dev space—and it’s not from the West.

Alibaba just released Qwen3-Coder, an open-source coding model that rivals Claude Opus in performance, especially for building apps from scratch.

  • Open-weight and hosted on chat.qwen.ai (no login needed)

  • Comes with its own CLI agent—think Claude Code, but open and modifiable

  • Proactively builds more than you ask for (Pomodoro timers with break modes, anyone?)

You don’t need a $30K rig to try it—you can run it in-browser or via API. But the biggest deal? Devs now have a Claude-quality coding model that they can fine-tune or self-host for privacy and speed. This shifts power away from closed ecosystems and into the hands of builders.

🔮 Prediction: Qwen3-Coder will become the go-to backend for indie AI app builders, no longer chained to Anthropic APIs. Expect a Cambrian explosion of open-source tooling.
